Illustration, Graphic Design, Photo manipulation, and Photo cleaning
I’ll draw whatever you want (within reason). I only work digitally. Do you need blog icons, ad banners or graphic elements for a website? Need a fancy logo for your business? Do you need to fix a damaged photo? Need extreme photo manipulation? Small business, big business, and regular folks just looking for a drawing can ask about my services.
Prices
Instead of charging you by the hour like other design services, I will quote you a price and stick to it even if I take longer than I estimated. I’ll also do a reasonable amount of revisions and changes. If revisions are excessive, I do charge extra. I’d like to avoid that, though, and give you a solid price that you can trust.
I’ve noticed most freelance artists don’t give you examples of their rates. To give you an idea about my prices, let me estimate some work for you:
- Postcard or similar designed piece: $220-$360 depending on your circumstances.
- Batgirl: A simple drawing of a superhero like this might be $75-$100.
- Various logos: Probably $300-$400 for a logo like these, plus the cost of rights.
- Complex illustration: Between $400-$600
Remember, these are estimates! Your estimate may be quite different. I quote a price for you based on how complex your idea is and how difficult it will be to execute.
Go to a professional designer or illustrator’s website and look at their prices. You may be unpleasantly surprised. This is a business just like any other, labor and services cost a certain amount per hour and people charge accordingly. You’ll find that my prices are reasonable.
Individuals looking for personal commissions for personal use (fan-style art) get different estimates, so ask.
Rights and Usage
This depends highly on what you are using the art for. Please ask about the cost of rights. For logos and such, you obviously want all rights. For illustrations there are different types of rights.
How to pay
I accept PayPal. Paypal accepts regular credit card transactions from Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or American Express. You can also send me a check or cash if you think that’s ok. A handling/processing fee of 3% will be added to the final cost of any and every purchase.
The way the design business works, usually you pay half up front which covers time and consultation and then the rest upon completion of the project. I see no reason to mess with the usual model so that is what I will do. This is subject to change if you have hired me via a 3rd party agent or request an unusually large project. I will do an initial quote and consult for free.
Getting your stuff
Turnaround time (the amount of time art takes to create) varies due to however busy I am. Remember, if you read my “about” page, be aware that I actually also have a full-time job aside from this business. Ask for an estimated time before you get yourself mixed up in a situation where you might wait too long for my services. You can get an idea by simply looking at the top-left side of this page at the words “What I’m doing…” to get a quick idea.
I will send you a download link, an email, or a disk (your choice) with the images and you can print them on your own printer or via your favorite copy place. Unfortunately I don’t have the proper equipment to print images myself.
